  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to enterprise zones;

  3         authorizing the Office of Tourism, Trade, and

  4         Economic Development to amend the boundaries of

  5         certain enterprise zones; providing a

  6         limitation; authorizing expansion of such

  7         enterprise zone to include certain

  8         noncontiguous areas; providing an effective

  9         date.

11  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

12  

13         Section 1.  Notwithstanding any other provision of law,

14  the Office of Tourism, Trade, and Economic Development may

15  amend the boundaries of an area designated as an enterprise

16  zone in a community located wholly within the boundaries of a

17  consolidated government so long as the amendment does not

18  increase the existing size of the enterprise zone by an area

19  of more than 2 square miles. The enterprise zone in said

20  community may also be expanded to include noncontiguous areas

21  designated as a federal empowerment zone under the 2000

22  Community Renewal Tax Relief Act without any limitations as to

23  size.

24         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2004.
