| 3 | A resolution urging Congress to grant temporary protected |
| 4 | status to all nonimmigrant Haitian nationals living in the |
| 5 | United States until peace and order are restored in Haiti. |

| 7 | WHEREAS, temporary protected status may be granted to |
| 8 | eligible nationals of designated countries deemed to be in |
| 9 | crisis, and |
| 10 | WHEREAS, Haiti is a nation currently in crisis, with |
| 11 | lingering political turmoil and violent uprisings on the |
| 12 | increase, and |
| 13 | WHEREAS, nonimmigrant Haitian nationals living in the |
| 14 | United States may suffer reprisals, including injury or death, |
| 15 | if deported back to Haiti under current conditions, NOW, |
| 16 | THEREFORE, |

| 18 | Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of |
| 19 | Florida: |
| 20 |
|
| 21 | That the Congress of the United States is requested to |
| 22 | grant temporary protected status to all nonimmigrant Haitian |
| 23 | nationals living in the United States until peace and order are |
| 24 | restored in Haiti. |
| 25 | BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be |
| 26 | dispatched to the President of the United States, to the |
| 27 | President of the United States Senate, to the Speaker of the |
| 28 | United States House of Representatives, and to each member of |
| 29 | the Florida delegation to the United States Congress. |
