House Resolution
3A resolution urging Congress to grant temporary protected
4status to all nonimmigrant Haitian nationals living in the
5United States until peace and order are restored in Haiti.

7     WHEREAS, temporary protected status may be granted to
8eligible nationals of designated countries deemed to be in
9crisis, and
10     WHEREAS, Haiti is a nation currently in crisis, with
11lingering political turmoil and violent uprisings on the
12increase, and
13     WHEREAS, nonimmigrant Haitian nationals living in the
14United States may suffer reprisals, including injury or death,
15if deported back to Haiti under current conditions, NOW,
16THEREFORE,

18Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
19Florida:

21     That the Congress of the United States is requested to
22grant temporary protected status to all nonimmigrant Haitian
23nationals living in the United States until peace and order are
24restored in Haiti.
25     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be
26dispatched to the President of the United States, to the
27President of the United States Senate, to the Speaker of the
28United States House of Representatives, and to each member of
29the Florida delegation to the United States Congress.
