A bill to be entitled
3An act relating to tourism; amending s. 288.1223, F.S.;
4revising the membership of the Florida Commission on
5Tourism; amending s. 288.1226, F.S.; revising the
6membership of the board of directors of the Florida
7Tourism Industry Marketing Corporation, to conform;
8providing an effective date.

10Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

12     Section 1.  Paragraph (a) of subsection (2) of section
13288.1223, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
14     288.1223  Florida Commission on Tourism; creation; purpose;
15membership.--
16     (2)(a)  The commission shall consist of 17 general tourism-
17industry-related members appointed by the Governor, subject to
18confirmation by the Senate, and 14 11 additional tourism-
19industry-related members, appointed by the Governor, including 3
20representatives from the statewide rental car industry, 4 3
21representatives from tourist-related statewide associations,
22including those that represent hotels, campgrounds, county
23destination marketing organizations, and attractions, 2 3
24representatives from county destination marketing organizations,
251 representative from the cruise industry, 1 representative from
26an automobile and travel services membership organization that
27has at least 2.8 million members in Florida, and 1
28representative from the airline industry, 1 representative from
29the youth travel industry, and 1 representative from the space
30tourism industry, who will each serve for a term of 2 years, the
31Governor, and 2 additional ex officio members, who will serve
32for a term of 2 years, including a member of the Senate
33appointed by the President of the Senate and a member of the
34House of Representatives appointed by the Speaker of the House
35of Representatives.
36     Section 2.  Subsection (4) of section 288.1226, Florida
37Statutes, is amended to read:
38     288.1226  Florida Tourism Industry Marketing Corporation;
39use of property; board of directors; duties; audit.--
40     (4)  BOARD OF DIRECTORS.--The board of directors of the
41corporation shall be composed of 31 28 tourism-industry-related
42members, appointed by the Florida Commission on Tourism from its
43own membership.  The vice chair of the commission shall serve as
44chair of the corporation's board of directors.
45     Section 3.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
