2	House Resolution
3	A resolution requesting the Congressional Delegation of
4	the State of Florida to support the President's efforts to
5	protect the United States from terrorists and the
6	proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

8	WHEREAS, in the immortal words of former President Franklin
9	Delano Roosevelt, "When you see a rattlesnake posed to strike,
10	you do not wait until he has struck before you crush him," and
11	WHEREAS, the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001,
12	showed that new deadly challenges have emerged from rogue states
13	and terrorists, and
14	WHEREAS, the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction
15	has fundamentally changed the nature of threats against the
16	United States and our allies, and
17	WHEREAS, a coordinated chemical, biological, or nuclear
18	attack against the United States or our allies will cost the
19	lives of millions of innocent Americans and other individuals,
20	as well as cause immeasurable damage to the United States and
21	world economies, and
22	WHEREAS, the United States cannot wait patiently and allow
23	radical regimes that support terrorism to acquire or manufacture
24	illegal weapons of mass destruction and pass them onto terrorist
25	organizations, and
26	WHEREAS, if the United States does not meet this terrorist
27	threat in the streets of Baghdad and Kandahar, Americans will be
28	forced to fight terrorists in the streets of Boston and Kansas
29	City, and
30	WHEREAS, President Bush has correctly stated that the
31	United States has the right to defend the United States or our
32	allies if the world community refuses to enforce the rule of law
33	to deter or remove future threats from tyrannical regimes and
34	the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, NOW,
35	THEREFORE,

37	Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
38	Florida:

40	That the House of Representatives of the State of Florida
41	requests that our Representatives and Senators in the United
42	States Congress support President Bush and his efforts to keep
43	the United States and our allies safe from terrorists, dangerous
44	authoritarian regimes, and weapons of mass destruction.
45	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be
46	transmitted to the members of the Congressional Delegation of
47	the State of Florida.
