7 | BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be |
8 | dispatched to the President of the United States, to the |
9 | President of the United States Senate, to the Speaker of the |
10 | United States House of Representatives, and to each member of |
11 | the Florida delegation to the United States Congress. |

17 | A resolution urging the Congress of the United States to |
18 | support Senator John Kerry's tax plan. |

20 | WHEREAS, according to the Institute for Economic Justice, |
21 | the overall tax burden of Floridians has increased for ninety- |
22 | seven percent of taxpayers, and |
23 | WHEREAS, tax cuts in the hands of middle class families |
24 | will stimulate job growth by encouraging spending and |
25 | responsible savings, and |
26 | WHEREAS, United States Senator John Kerry has proposed a |
27 | sweeping tax reform package that will extend additional tax cuts |
28 | for middle class families, including new tax credits for health |
29 | insurance and college tuition, and |
30 | WHEREAS, the John Kerry plan will make permanent additional |
31 | child tax credits, marriage penalty provisions, and lower tax |
32 | brackets for low-income families, and |
33 | WHEREAS, the John Kerry plan will extend these additional |
34 | tax cuts by rolling back tax cuts for America's wealthiest one |
35 | percent of income earners, and |
36 | WHEREAS, the John Kerry plan will help create new jobs in |
37 | places like New Port Richey rather than New Delhi by |
38 | fundamentally reforming America's international tax system, by |
39 | eliminating tax breaks for companies creating jobs overseas and |
40 | using those funds to lower the corporate tax rate, and |
41 | WHEREAS, the John Kerry plan will restart job growth today |
42 | by creating an expanded New Jobs Tax Credit for companies that |
43 | create jobs in manufacturing and for other industries affected |
44 | by outsourcing, and |

47 | will not extend record deficits into future decades, NOW, |
