13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
14         On page 15, lines 3 and 4, delete those lines
15  
16  and insert:  
17         Section 7.  Section 409.819, Florida Statutes, is
18  amended to read:
19         409.819  Identification of low-income, uninsured
20  children; determination of eligibility for the Florida Kidcare
21  program; alternative health care information.--The Department
22  of Health shall develop a program, in conjunction with the
23  Department of Education, the Department of Children and Family
24  Services, the Agency for Health Care Administration, the
25  Florida Healthy Kids Corporation, local governments,
26  employers, and other stakeholders to identify low-income,
27  uninsured children and, to the extent possible and subject to
28  appropriation, refer them to the Department of Children and
29  Family Services for eligibility determination and provide
30  parents with information about choices of health benefits
31  coverage under the Florida Kidcare program. These activities

 1  shall include, but not be limited to: training community
 2  providers in effective methods of outreach; conducting public
 3  information campaigns designed to publicize the Florida
 4  Kidcare program, the eligibility requirements of the program,
 5  and the procedures for enrollment in the program; and
 6  maintaining public awareness of the Florida Kidcare program.
 7  Special emphasis shall be placed on the identification of
 8  minority children, including, but not limited to, Hispanic,
 9  Haitian, and African-American children, for referral to and
10  participation in the Florida Kidcare program.
