15         On page 3, lines 23 and 24, delete those lines
16  
17  and insert:  
18         Section 14.  Section 409.819, Florida Statutes, is
19  amended to read:
20         409.819  Identification of low-income, uninsured
21  children; determination of eligibility for the Florida Kidcare
22  program; alternative health care information.--The Department
23  of Health shall develop a program, in conjunction with the
24  Department of Education, the Department of Children and Family
25  Services, the Agency for Health Care Administration, the
26  Florida Healthy Kids Corporation, local governments,
27  employers, and other stakeholders to identify low-income,
28  uninsured children and, to the extent possible and subject to
29  appropriation, refer them to the Department of Children and
30  Family Services for eligibility determination and provide
31  parents with information about choices of health benefits

 1  coverage under the Florida Kidcare program. These activities
 2  shall include, but not be limited to: training community
 3  providers in effective methods of outreach; conducting public
 4  information campaigns designed to publicize the Florida
 5  Kidcare program, the eligibility requirements of the program,
 6  and the procedures for enrollment in the program; and
 7  maintaining public awareness of the Florida Kidcare program.
 8  Special emphasis shall be placed on the identification of
 9  minority children, including, but not limited to, Hispanic,
10  Haitian, and African-American children, for referral to and
11  participation in the Florida Kidcare program.
