10 | (3) Notwithstanding any other provisions of this chapter, |
11 | a funeral director, a direct disposer, or an employee of a |
12 | funeral establishment which holds a certificate of authority |
13 | pursuant to s. 497.405 may obtain an agent's license to sell |
14 | only policies of life insurance covering the expense of a |
15 | prearrangement for funeral services or merchandise so as to |
16 | provide funds at the time the services and merchandise are |
17 | needed. The face amount of insurance covered by any such policy |
18 | shall not exceed $12,500 plus an annual percentage increase |
19 | based on the Annual Consumer Price Index compiled by the United |
20 | States Department of Labor, beginning with the Annual Consumer |
21 | Price Index announced by the United States Department of Labor |
22 | for the year 2004 $7,500. |
