11  Senator Jones moved the following amendment:

13         Senate Amendment 
14         On page 71, lines 1-16, delete those lines
15  
16  and insert:  
17         Section 43.  Paragraph (c) and (d) of subsection (1) of
18  section 460.406, Florida Statutes, are amended and subsection
19  (5) is added to that section to read:
20         460.406  Licensure by examination.--
21         (1)  Any person desiring to be licensed as a
22  chiropractic physician shall apply to the department to take
23  the licensure examination. There shall be an application fee
24  set by the board not to exceed $100 which shall be
25  nonrefundable.  There shall also be an examination fee not to
26  exceed $500 plus the actual per applicant cost to the
27  department for purchase of portions of the examination from
28  the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners or a similar
29  national organization, which may be refundable if the
30  applicant is found ineligible to take the examination.  The
31  department shall examine each applicant who the board

SENATE AMENDMENT Bill No. CS for CS for SB 2170 Amendment No. ___ Barcode 222294 1 certifies has: 2 (c) Submitted proof satisfactory to the department 3 that he or she is within 6 months of graduating from or is a 4 graduate of a chiropractic college which is accredited by or 5 has status with the Council on Chiropractic Education or its 6 predecessor agency. However, any applicant who is a graduate 7 of a chiropractic college that was initially accredited by the 8 Council on Chiropractic Education in 1995, who graduated from 9 such college within the 4 years immediately preceding such 10 accreditation, and who is otherwise qualified shall be 11 eligible to take the examination. No application for a 12 license to practice chiropractic medicine shall be denied 13 solely because the applicant is a graduate of a chiropractic 14 college that subscribes to one philosophy of chiropractic 15 medicine as distinguished from another. 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 2 2:52 PM 04/23/04 s2170c2b-13213
