| 8 | (4) PERFORMANCE BY TRAINEES.--The practice of a trainee is |
| 9 | exempt from the requirements of this chapter while the trainee |
| 10 | is performing assigned tasks under the direct supervision of a |
| 11 | board-certified anesthesiologist in conjunction with an approved |
| 12 | program. Certified registered nurse anesthetists shall not be |
| 13 | used to train or supervise trainees. Before anesthesia is |
| 14 | provided to any patient by a trainee, the patient must be |
| 15 | informed in writing that anesthesia will be administered by a |
| 16 | trainee. |
