  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to traffic citations; amending

  3         s. 316.650, F.S.; providing exceptions to a

  4         prohibition against using citations as evidence

  5         in a trial; providing an effective date.

  7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  8  

  9         Section 1.  Subsection (9) of section 316.650, Florida

10  Statutes, is amended to read:

11         316.650  Traffic citations.--

12         (9)  Such citations shall not be admissible evidence in

13  any trial, except when used as evidence of falsification,

14  forgery, uttering, fraud, or perjury, or when used as physical

15  evidence resulting from a forensic examination of the

16  citation.

17         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2004.
