| 4 | Remove lines 65-71, and insert: |
| 5 | Section 3. (1) Beginning at 12:01 a.m. August 1, 2004, |
| 6 | through midnight August 31, 2004, the tax levied pursuant to s. |
| 7 | 206.41(1)(g), Florida Statutes, shall be reduced by 3 cents per |
| 8 | gallon. During this period, licensed terminal suppliers, |
| 9 | wholesalers, and importers of motor fuel shall charge and |
| 10 | collect the reduced rate of tax on sales of motor fuel to retail |
| 11 | dealers located in this state. |
| 12 | (2) For the period specified in subsection (1), the |
| 13 | Department of Revenue shall deposit 5 cents per gallon of the |
| 14 | tax levied pursuant to s. 206.41(1)(g), Florida Statutes, into |
| 15 | the General Revenue Fund to be used for purposes of providing |
| 16 | pay raises to state employees. It is the intent of the |
| 17 | Legislature that the portion of the motor fuel tax collected and |
| 18 | deposited under this subsection be used to fund pay raises for |
| 19 | state employees. |
