8 | (b) The subject matter of a revision or amendment to this |
9 | constitution proposed by initiative must be of constitutional |
10 | stature. If the Supreme Court determines that the proposed |
11 | initiative is not of constitutional stature, the Supreme Court |
12 | shall direct the Secretary of State to place the question on the |
13 | next general election ballot as a statutory initiative, which |
14 | shall be provided for by general law. A provision of |
15 | constitutional stature is a provision that guarantees important |
16 | fundamental rights, requires the legislature to address an issue |
17 | of great importance, limits the powers of the three branches of |
18 | government, or repeals a provision of this constitution not of |
19 | constitutional stature. |
