2	An act relating to traffic; amending s. 316.006, F.S.;
3	providing for jurisdiction and authority of municipalities
4	to regulate commercial vehicle traffic; providing an
5	effective date.

7	Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

9	Section 1. Paragraph (c) is added to subsection (2) of
10	section 316.006, Florida Statutes, to read:
11	316.006 Jurisdiction.--Jurisdiction to control traffic is
12	vested as follows:
13	(2) MUNICIPALITIES.--
14	(c) Municipalities shall have jurisdiction and authority
15	to regulate and restrict commercial vehicle traffic over all
16	streets and highways located within their boundaries by granting
17	permits, franchises, and licenses or by otherwise exercising
18	such authority. The purpose of this paragraph is to reinforce
19	the long-standing policy of this state.

21	This subsection shall not limit those counties which have the
22	charter powers to provide and regulate arterial, toll, and other
23	roads, bridges, tunnels, and related facilities from the proper
24	exercise of those powers by the placement and maintenance of
25	traffic control devices which conform to the manual and
26	specifications of the Department of Transportation on streets
27	and highways located within municipal boundaries.
28	Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
