  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to arrests; amending s. 901.15,

  3         F.S.; authorizing a law enforcement officer to

  4         arrest a person without a warrant on charges of

  5         exposure of sexual organs; providing an

  6         effective date.

  8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  9  

10         Section 1.  Subsection (9) of section 901.15, Florida

11  Statutes, is amended to read:

12         901.15  When arrest by officer without warrant is

13  lawful.--A law enforcement officer may arrest a person without

14  a warrant when:

15         (9)  There is probable cause to believe that the person

16  has committed:

17         (a)  Any battery upon another person, as defined in s.

18  784.03.

19         (b)  An act of criminal mischief or a graffiti-related

20  offense as described in s. 806.13.

21         (c)  An act of exposure of sexual organs as described

22  in s. 800.03.

23         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2004.
