Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |

|

Section 1. Appearance card required for testifying before |
13
|
a legislative committee; implied oath.-- |
14
|
(1) A person who appears before a committee of the Senate, |
15
|
a committee of the House of Representatives, or a joint |
16
|
committee of the Legislature is considered to be under oath to |
17
|
testify truthfully and, if he or she willfully testifies |
18
|
falsely, is subject to penalties for perjury as provided by law. |

|
(2) Before testifying before a committee of the Senate, a |
20
|
committee of the House of Representatives, or a joint committee |
21
|
of the Legislature, a person must complete an appearance card |
22
|
that includes, but need not be limited to, the individual's name |
23
|
and business address; the agency that he or she represents, if |
24
|
any; and the individual's signature. The card must contain a |
25
|
notice, printed in legible type located above the signature |
26
|
line, which states that, by signing the card, the individual |
27
|
acknowledges being under oath and subject to penalties for |
28
|
perjury if he or she does not testify truthfully. |
29
|
Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2004. |
