13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
14         On page 77, between lines 24 and 25,
15  
16  insert:  
17         Section 53.  (1)  Each district school board and county
18  supervisor of elections shall cooperate to provide voter
19  education to high-school students who are in grade 12. The
20  voter education shall be in the form of a presentation and is
21  mandatory for public high schools and voluntary for nonpublic
22  high schools. Each supervisor of elections shall conduct the
23  presentation for the public high schools and, upon request,
24  the nonpublic high schools.
25         (2)  The voter education must include information
26  concerning:
27         (a)  How to register to vote and preregister.
28         (b)  The operation of voting machines.
29         (c)  How, when, and where to vote.
30         (d)  The importance of voting.
31         (3)  The voter education program must provide students
