11 The Committee on Governmental Oversight and Productivity
12 recommended the following amendment:

14 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
15 On page 3, lines 21 and 22, delete those lines
16
17 and insert:
18 Section 3. Notwithstanding any other law,
19 instructional personnel, as defined in section 1012.01(2),
20 Florida Statutes, who are employed by a developmental research
21 school or the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind are
22 eligible for reemployment after retirement in the same manner
23 as classroom teachers who are employed by the district school
24 boards, as described in sections 121.091(9)(b)3. and
25 238.181(2)(c), Florida Statutes; and instructional personnel,
26 as defined in section 1012.01(2), Florida Statutes, who are
27 employed by a developmental research school and authorized by
28 the school's director, or if the school has no director, by
29 the school's principal, are eligible for the Deferred
30 Retirement Option Program (DROP) beyond 60 months in the same
31 manner as the instructional personnel who are employed by the

1 district school boards and authorized by the district school
2 superintendent, as described in section 121.091(13), Florida
3 Statutes.
4 Section 4. This act shall take effect upon becoming
5 a law and sections 1 and 2 of this act shall apply
6 retroactively to July 1, 2003.

10 And the title is amended as follows:
11 On page 1, line 10, after the semicolon,

13 insert:
14 providing that certain reemployment and
15 retirement benefits are available to
16 instructional personnel at developmental
17 research schools and at the Florida School for
18 the Deaf and the Blind;
