2 A resolution recognizing April 13 and 14, 2004,
3 as Legislative Massage Therapy Awareness Days.

5 WHEREAS, members of the Florida State Massage Therapy
6 Association and the Florida Chapter of the American Massage
7 Therapy Association throughout the state are actively involved
8 in public awareness and health programs to improve the health
9 and quality of life of Florida residents, and
10 WHEREAS, the Florida State Massage Therapy Association
11 and the Florida Chapter of the American Massage Therapy
12 Association are celebrating their fifteenth anniversary and
13 have been holding Legislative Massage Therapy Awareness Days
14 at the Florida Capitol since 1988 for the purpose of educating
15 the State Legislature and the public concerning the many
16 health benefits of massage therapy, and
17 WHEREAS, licensed massage therapists have been licensed
18 and regulated in the State of Florida since 1943, and as of
19 2004 there are over 22,000 massage therapists licensed by the
20 state, and
21 WHEREAS, massage therapy is a low-cost, high-quality
22 means of enhancing and restoring health, and
23 WHEREAS, increased awareness of the benefits of massage
24 therapy will lead to improved health and vitality of the
25 residents of the State of Florida, and
26 WHEREAS, the Legislature recognizes massage therapy for
27 wellness and preventive health measures, NOW, THEREFORE,
