directly supervise a person who is not licensed to |

practice osteopathic medicine while that person performs |

specified services; providing an effective date. |

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |

|

Section 1. Section 458.3245, Florida Statutes, is created |
14
|
to read: |

|
458.3245 Dermatological supervision requirements.-- |
16
|
(1) A dermatologist must directly supervise a person with |
17
|
whom the dermatologist has a supervisory relationship and who is |
18
|
not licensed to practice medicine under this chapter in this |
19
|
state when that person: |
20
|
(a) Evaluates a new, nonemergency patient; or |
21
|
(b) Encounters any new dermatological problems. |

|
(2) As used in this section, the term "directly supervise" |
23
|
means the dermatologist is present in the same office suite as |
24
|
the person being supervised. |

Section 2. Section 459.0126, Florida Statutes, is created |
26
|
to read: |

459.0126 Dermatological supervision requirements.-- |
28
|
(1) A dermatologist must directly supervise a person with |
29
|
whom the dermatologist has a supervisory relationship and who is |
30
|
not licensed to practice osteopathic medicine under this chapter |
31
|
in this state when that person: |

|
(a) Evaluates a new, nonemergency patient; or |
33
|
(b) Encounters any new dermatological problems. |

(2) As used in this section, the term "directly supervise" |

|
means the dermatologist is present in the same office suite as |

|
the person being supervised. |

Section 3. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law. |
