13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
14         On page 8, between lines 23 and 24,
15  
16  insert:  
17         Section 4.  Subsection (17) is added to section 430.04,
18  Florida Statutes, to read:
19         430.04  Duties and responsibilities of the Department
20  of Elderly Affairs.--The Department of Elderly Affairs shall:
21         (17)  Address and dispel commonly held misperceptions
22  and stereotypes about mature Floridians and ensure Florida's's
23  position as a premier retirement destination. The department
24  may within existing resources, encourage contributions and
25  grants through private, state, and federal sources and to make
26  expenditures from such contributions and grant funds for the
27  purposes of carrying out the duties of this subsection.
