| 5 | Section 2. Paragraph (a) of subsection (4) of section |
| 6 | 394.459, Florida Statutes, is amended to read: |
| 7 | 394.459 Rights of patients.-- |
| 8 | (4) QUALITY OF TREATMENT.-- |
| 9 | (a) Each patient in a facility shall receive services, |
| 10 | including, for a patient placed under s. 394.4655, those |
| 11 | services included in the court order which are suited to his or |
| 12 | her needs, which shall be administered skillfully, safely, and |
| 13 | humanely with full respect for the patient's dignity and |
| 14 | personal integrity. Each patient shall receive such medical, |
| 15 | vocational, social, educational, and rehabilitative services as |
| 16 | his or her condition requires in order to live successfully in |
| 17 | to bring about an early return to the community. In order to |
| 18 | achieve this goal, the department is directed to coordinate its |
| 19 | mental health programs with all other programs of the department |
| 20 | and other state agencies. |
