11  Senator Campbell moved the following amendment:

13         Senate Amendment 
14         On page 9, lines 18 through 25, delete those lines
15  
16  and insert:  
17         (4)  PERFORMANCE BY TRAINEES.--The practice of a
18  trainee is exempt from the requirements of this chapter while
19  the trainee is performing assigned tasks under the direct
20  supervision of a board certified anesthesiologist in
21  conjunction with an approved program.  Certified registered
22  nurse anesthetists shall not be used to train or supervise
23  trainees.  Before anesthesia is provided to any patient by a
24  trainee. the patient must be informed in writing that
25  anesthesia will be administered by a trainee.
