5 | Appropriations Act. A university that changes National |
6 | Collegiate Athletic Association divisions may increase its |
7 | athletic fee at the time the university is in the transition |
8 | stage of changing divisions to defray the costs associated with |
9 | changing divisions. Such an increase in the athletic fee is |
10 | exempt from the 40-percent cap and the 5-percent cap on yearly |
11 | increases in the sum of the activity and service, health, and |
12 | athletic fees, but may not exceed $2 per credit hour of |
13 | registered classes. Such an increase must be approved by the |
14 | athletic fee committee as provided in subsection (11). |
15 | Notwithstanding the provisions of ss. 1009.534, 1009.535, and |
16 | 1009.536, any increase to an athletic fee to defray the costs |
17 | associated with changing National Collegiate Athletic |
18 | Association divisions assessed pursuant to this subsection shall |
19 | not be included in calculating the amount a student receives for |
20 | a Florida Academic Scholars award, a Florida Medallion Scholar |
21 | award, or a Florida Gold Seal Vocational Scholars award. This |
