6 | (a) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a charter |
7 | technical career center's student membership enrollment must be |
8 | calculated pursuant to this section. |
9 | (b)(a) Each district school board and community college |
10 | that sponsors a charter technical career center shall pay |
11 | directly to the center an amount stated in the charter. State |
12 | funding shall be generated for the center for its student |
13 | enrollment and program outcomes as provided in law. A center is |
14 | eligible for funding from workforce education funds the Florida |
15 | Workforce Development Education Fund, the Florida Education |
16 | Finance Program, and the Community College Program Fund, |
17 | depending upon the programs conducted by the center. |
18 | (c)(b) A center may receive other state and federal aid, |
19 | grants, and revenue through the district school board or |
20 | community college board of trustees. |
21 | (d)(c) A center may receive gifts and grants from private |
22 | sources. |
23 | (e)(d) A center may not levy taxes or issue bonds, but it |
24 | may charge a student tuition fee consistent with authority |
25 | granted in its charter and permitted by law. |
26 | (f)(e) A center shall provide for an annual financial |
27 | audit in accordance with s. 218.39. |
28 | (g) A center must define in the charter agreement the |
29 | delivery system in which the instructional offering of |
30 | educational services will be placed. The rules governing this |
31 | delivery system must be applied to all of the center's students |
32 | and must authorize all other sponsoring educational systems to |
33 | report required enrollment and student data based solely on the |
34 | rules of the offering institution. Each sponsor shall earn full- |
35 | time equivalent membership for each student for funding and |
36 | reporting purposes. |
37 | (f) A center must provide instruction for at least the |
38 | number of days required by law for other public schools or |
39 | community colleges, as appropriate, and may provide instruction |
40 | for additional days. |
