| 2 | A resolution in recognition of the sacrifices of the | ||
| 3 | families of American military personnel from the State of | ||
| 4 | Florida serving overseas in the war on terror and | ||
| 5 | expressing to those families the appreciation of the | ||
| 6 | citizens of the State of Florida for their patience, | ||
| 7 | steadfastness, and patriotism. | ||

| 9 | WHEREAS, the families of American servicemen and | ||
| 10 | servicewomen from the State of Florida continue to bear the | ||
| 11 | burden of being without family members who are serving in the | ||
| 12 | United States military overseas, and | ||
| 13 | WHEREAS, sadly, in some instances families in Florida have | ||
| 14 | lost family members in combat during the war on terror or during | ||
| 15 | the subsequent rebuilding efforts, while other families have | ||
| 16 | relatives who have suffered injuries during the conflict, and | ||
| 17 | WHEREAS, because of the natural tendency to focus on the | ||
| 18 | sacrifices made by our servicemen and servicewomen overseas, it | ||
| 19 | is sometimes easy to overlook the sacrifices made by their | ||
| 20 | families here at home, and | ||
| 21 | WHEREAS, to endure the uncertainty that comes with having a | ||
| 22 | relative serving in the military in a combat or high-risk | ||
| 23 | situation is in itself an act of patriotism that all Americans | ||
| 24 | need to be mindful of and that needs to be recognized publicly | ||
| 25 | and often, NOW, THEREFORE, | ||

| 27 | Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of | ||
| 28 | Florida: | ||

| 30 | That the House of Representatives of the State of Florida | ||
| 31 | hereby recognizes the sacrifices of the families of American | ||
| 32 | military personnel from the State of Florida serving overseas in | ||
| 33 | the war on terror and expresses to those families the | ||
| 34 | appreciation of the citizens of the State of Florida for their | ||
| 35 | patience, steadfastness, and patriotism. | ||
