1	House Resolution
2	A resolution recognizing the 100th anniversary of the
3	Florida State Fair and designating April 21, 2004, as
4	"Florida State Fair Day."

6	WHEREAS, since its inception in 1904, the Florida State
7	Fair, recognized as one of the finest of such events in the
8	United States, has earned a special place in the hearts of
9	Floridians, and
10	WHEREAS, held each year at the Florida State Fairgrounds in
11	Hillsborough County, the fair not only celebrates the state's
12	rich, ongoing agricultural heritage, but also showcases the many
13	varied industrial, mechanical, horticultural, dairy, forestry,
14	poultry, livestock, mineral, cultural, and other economic,
15	educational, social, and scientific aspects of life in Florida,
16	and
17	WHEREAS, the Florida State Fair has been held in
18	Hillsborough County for the entire century of its existence,
19	and, from February 5-16, 2004, under the auspices of the Florida
20	State Fair Authority, the state's citizens observed the 100th
21	anniversary celebration of this landmark in their history, NOW,
22	THEREFORE,

24	Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
25	Florida:

27	That the membership of the House of Representatives
28	congratulates the citizens of the State of Florida on the 100th
29	anniversary of the Florida State Fair and designates April 21,
30	2004, as "Florida State Fair Day."
