| 5 | WHEREAS, Sunday, June 20, 2004, has been designated as |
| 6 | Father's Day in the United States, and |
| 7 | WHEREAS, the greatest education in honesty, decency, |
| 8 | integrity, industry, and fidelity is to see these qualities |
| 9 | embodied in the life and works of a parent, and |
| 10 | WHEREAS, the American tradition of a productive society and |
| 11 | a secure home has depended in great part on the hard work and |
| 12 | sacrifice of fathers who tirelessly seek for their children a |
| 13 | better life and greater opportunity than they knew, and |
| 14 | WHEREAS, fulfilling the demanding roles of fatherhood, as |
| 15 | provider, teacher, role model, comforter, and protector, is an |
| 16 | act of true heroism in today's world, and |
| 17 | WHEREAS, each new generation looks to its fathers for |
| 18 | courage, strength, and understanding, and |
| 19 | WHEREAS, the enduring affection between a father and his |
| 20 | family is recognized and appreciated as one of the most positive |
| 21 | elements upon which our future as a nation depends, and |
| 22 | WHEREAS, it is fitting and appropriate that the members and |
| 23 | staff of the House of Representatives recognize the immeasurable |
| 24 | debt of gratitude owed to fathers for their strength, guidance, |
| 25 | understanding, and love, NOW, THEREFORE, |

| 27 | Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of |
| 28 | Florida: |

| 30 | That the members of the House of Representatives do hereby |
| 31 | express to their own fathers and to all fathers, on behalf of |
| 32 | the citizens of the State of Florida, deep personal affection |
| 33 | and abiding gratitude. |
| 34 | BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be spread upon |
| 35 | the Journal of the House of Representatives as a tangible token |
| 36 | of the love and respect that the members hold for all fathers. |
