| 2 | A resolution commending the osteopathic physicians of this |
| 3 | state and recognizing March 31, 2004, as Osteopathic |
| 4 | Medicine Day. |

| 6 | WHEREAS, osteopathic physicians provide health care |
| 7 | services that account for more than 100 million patient visits |
| 8 | in this country each year, and |
| 9 | WHEREAS, the state has nine accredited osteopathic |
| 10 | hospitals, two osteopathic medical colleges, and the fourth |
| 11 | largest osteopathic physician population in the United States, |
| 12 | and |
| 13 | WHEREAS, osteopathic physicians provide comprehensive |
| 14 | medical care, including preventive medicine, diagnoses, the |
| 15 | appropriate use of drugs, surgery, manipulation, and hospital |
| 16 | referrals, NOW, THEREFORE, |

| 18 | Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of |
| 19 | Florida: |

| 21 | That the House of Representatives commends the osteopathic |
| 22 | physicians of this state for their contributions to the health |
| 23 | and welfare of the residents of this state and recognizes March |
| 24 | 31, 2004, as Osteopathic Medicine Day. |
