2A resolution honoring the Phi Theta Kappa 2004 All-Florida
3Academic Team members.

5     WHEREAS, March 17, 2004, "Florida Phi Theta Kappa Day," is
6an appropriate time for the Legislature of the State of Florida
7to recognize and salute Phi Theta Kappa, the esteemed
8international honor society for community and junior colleges,
9and
10     WHEREAS, special commendations should be extended to the
11outstanding scholars who comprise the 2004 All-Florida Academic
12Team, a team of highly successful community and junior college
13students assembled by the Florida Community College System, and
14     WHEREAS, 127 students from Florida's Community College
15System and Keiser College and Florida College, private
16institutions, were named to the 2004 All-Florida Academic Team,
17and
18     WHEREAS, based on the national ranking of these students in
19the All-USA Academic Team competition sponsored by USA Today and
20Phi Theta Kappa, which is recognized internationally,
21nationally, and in the State of Florida as the primary community
22college organization for the recognition of academic
23achievement, leadership, and service to the community, the
24following students comprise the 2004 All-Florida Academic Team:

156members of Phi Theta Kappa's 2004 All-Florida Academic Team have
157earned for them and their academic institutions the respect and
158admiration of the House of Representatives of the State of
159Florida and the citizenry of this state, NOW, THEREFORE,

161Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of

164     That the Florida House of Representatives hereby honors and
165congratulates Phi Theta Kappa, the Florida Community College
166System, and the members of the 2004 All-Florida Academic Team
167and commends the team members' outstanding competitive spirit
168evidenced by their accomplishments.
