House Resolution
2A resolution designating March 17, 2004, as "Rollins
3College Day."

5WHEREAS, established in 1885 in Winter Park, Florida, as
6Florida's oldest college, Rollins College is a comprehensive
7college comprised of the College of Arts and Sciences, the Roy
8E. Crummer Graduate School of Business, and the Hamilton Holt
9School, and
10WHEREAS, the reputation for excellence enjoyed by Rollins
11has resulted in record enrollments, with 3,829 students pursuing
12degrees in 35 undergraduate majors and seven graduate fields of
13study, and
14WHEREAS, Rollins' president, Dr. Rita Bornstein, is
15completing her fourteenth and final year in that office and
16during that time has led the institution to national prominence,
17and
18WHEREAS, under Dr. Bornstein's leadership, Rollins has
19received recognition from several national publications for the
20success of both undergraduate and graduate programs, and
21WHEREAS, Rollins College's administration, faculty,
22students, and graduates, including Legislators, have made
23innumerable contributions to the State of Florida, NOW,
24THEREFORE,

26Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
27Florida:

29     That the House of Representatives warmly welcomes members
30of this prestigious college to the Capitol and hereby designates
31March 17, 2004, as "Rollins College Day."
32     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
33presented to Rollins College President Dr. Rita Bornstein as a
34tangible token of the sentiments expressed herein.
