5 | WHEREAS, established in 1885 in Winter Park, Florida, as |
6 | Florida's oldest college, Rollins College is a comprehensive |
7 | college comprised of the College of Arts and Sciences, the Roy |
8 | E. Crummer Graduate School of Business, and the Hamilton Holt |
9 | School, and |
10 | WHEREAS, the reputation for excellence enjoyed by Rollins |
11 | has resulted in record enrollments, with 3,829 students pursuing |
12 | degrees in 35 undergraduate majors and seven graduate fields of |
13 | study, and |
14 | WHEREAS, Rollins' president, Dr. Rita Bornstein, is |
15 | completing her fourteenth and final year in that office and |
16 | during that time has led the institution to national prominence, |
17 | and |
18 | WHEREAS, under Dr. Bornstein's leadership, Rollins has |
19 | received recognition from several national publications for the |
20 | success of both undergraduate and graduate programs, and |
21 | WHEREAS, Rollins College's administration, faculty, |
22 | students, and graduates, including Legislators, have made |
23 | innumerable contributions to the State of Florida, NOW, |
24 | THEREFORE, |

26 | Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of |
27 | Florida: |

29 | That the House of Representatives warmly welcomes members |
30 | of this prestigious college to the Capitol and hereby designates |
31 | March 17, 2004, as "Rollins College Day." |
32 | BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be |
33 | presented to Rollins College President Dr. Rita Bornstein as a |
34 | tangible token of the sentiments expressed herein. |
