| 3 | A resolution honoring Mayor William Earl Willis. |

| 5 | WHEREAS, Mayor William Earl Willis, one of the longest- |
| 6 | serving mayors in the history of Florida, has chosen to retire |
| 7 | in January 2005 from a position he has held for more than half a |
| 8 | century, and |
| 9 | WHEREAS, since August 1953, Mayor Willis has been diligent |
| 10 | in his duties as councilman and mayor of the Town of Greensboro |
| 11 | and has very ably conducted the affairs of the town with |
| 12 | integrity and dedication, and |
| 13 | WHEREAS, in addition to the quality and longevity of his |
| 14 | service to the citizens of Greensboro, it is to be noted that |
| 15 | for these many years Mayor Willis has met the demands of his |
| 16 | office wisely, faithfully, and without compensation, NOW, |
| 17 | THEREFORE, |

| 19 | Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of |
| 20 | Florida: |

| 22 | That the House of Representatives honors Mayor William Earl |
| 23 | Willis for his many years of public service and for his |
| 24 | outstanding contributions to the citizens of the Town of |
| 25 | Greensboro, recognizes his more than 50 years of unselfish |
| 26 | devotion to his constituents, and wishes him many years of |
| 27 | healthy, happy retirement. |
| 28 | BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be |
| 29 | presented to William Earl Willis, Mayor of the Town of |
| 30 | Greensboro, Florida, as a tangible token of the sentiments |
| 31 | expressed herein. |
