2	A resolution designating the week of April 26-May 2, 2004,
3	as "Florida American Association of University Women
4	Week."

6	WHEREAS, the Florida American Association of University
7	Women, comprised of 5,200 members in 50 communities throughout
8	the state, is part of a nationwide network of diverse college
9	graduates that promotes personal and professional growth,
10	lifelong learning, and positive societal change, and is a
11	powerful advocate for equity for all women and girls, and
12	WHEREAS, the Florida American Association of University
13	Women is a branch of a national organization that offers $4
14	million a year in fellowships and grants to graduate women
15	through its educational foundation, and
16	WHEREAS, the Florida American Association of University
17	Women has launched community programs that touch women and girls
18	of diverse backgrounds, and
19	WHEREAS, the Florida American Association of University
20	Women is a strong supporter of challenges to sex discrimination
21	on college and university campuses, and
22	WHEREAS, the Florida American Association of University
23	Women makes a global impact through international initiatives
24	and partnerships, and
25	WHEREAS, the Florida American Association of University
26	Women celebrates its 75th anniversary of service in 2004, NOW,
27	THEREFORE,

29	Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
30	Florida:

32	That the Florida American Association of University Women
33	is congratulated upon the occasion of its 75th anniversary and
34	is commended for its outstanding contributions to the state and
35	nation and for its positive worldwide impact.
36	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the week of April 26-May 2,
37	2004, is designated as "Florida American Association of
38	University Women Week."
