5 | WHEREAS, on Saturday morning, July 5, 2003, Flagler County |
6 | Deputy Charles "Chuck" Sease lost his life in the line of duty, |
7 | and |
8 | WHEREAS, Deputy Sease, 35, had been with the Flagler County |
9 | Sheriff's Office for only two months, having begun his career in |
10 | law enforcement in Connecticut in 1998, and |
11 | WHEREAS, Deputy Sease was the first member of the close- |
12 | knit force of 80 road patrol officers and 33 detention deputies |
13 | to be killed in action in Flagler County since 1927, and his |
14 | death left the small Palm Coast community in shocked disbelief |
15 | and deep mourning, and |
16 | WHEREAS, recalled as a respected law enforcement officer |
17 | and a "great guy who loved his job and lost his life," Deputy |
18 | Sease, husband and father, is remembered with great sadness and |
19 | much gratitude on the occasion of the nine-month anniversary of |
20 | his death, NOW, THEREFORE, |

22 | Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of |
23 | Florida: |

25 | That the House of Representatives pauses to honor the |
26 | memory of Flagler County Sheriff's Deputy Charles "Chuck" Sease |
27 | and to express its sorrow at the untimely death of one of |
28 | "America's finest." |
29 | BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be |
30 | presented to Mrs. Susan Sease, wife of Deputy Charles "Chuck" |
31 | Sease, as a tangible token of the sentiments expressed herein. |
