7 | appropriations categories; providing an effective date. |

9 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
10 |
|
11 | Section 1. The Legislature finds that immediate assistance |
12 | is needed to provide nutritional, medical, and social services |
13 | to the elderly, children, families, individuals with |
14 | disabilities, low-income individuals, and the communities in |
15 | which they live to address the impact of Hurricanes Charley, |
16 | Frances, Jeanne, and Ivan and Tropical Storm Bonnie, which |
17 | struck the state during 2004. |
18 | Section 2. The sum of $12,000,000 from the Federal Grants |
19 | Trust Fund is hereby appropriated in lump sum to the Department |
20 | of Elderly Affairs for the purpose of providing support services |
21 | relating to the 2004 hurricanes to the elderly during the 2004- |
22 | 2005 fiscal year. |
23 | Section 3. The sums of $4,704,736 from the Social Services |
24 | Block Grant Trust Fund and $4,500,000 from the Alcohol, Drug |
25 | Abuse, and Mental Health Trust Fund are hereby appropriated in |
26 | lump sum to the Department of Children and Family Services for |
27 | the purpose of providing support services relating to the 2004 |
28 | hurricanes to children and families during the 2004-2005 fiscal |
29 | year. |
30 | Section 4. The sum of $1,313,429 from the Social Services |
31 | Block Grant Trust Fund is hereby appropriated in lump sum to the |
32 | Agency for Persons with Disabilities for the purpose of |
33 | providing support services relating to the 2004 hurricanes to |
34 | the developmentally disabled during the 2004-2005 fiscal year. |
35 | Section 5. Notwithstanding the provisions of section |
36 | 216.177, Florida Statutes, requiring a 14-day notice for interim |
37 | budget actions, and pursuant to section 216.351, Florida |
38 | Statutes, the Executive Office of the Governor shall provide |
39 | notice of the allocation of the lump-sum appropriations |
40 | authorized by this act into traditional appropriations |
41 | categories to the chair and vice chair of the Legislative Budget |
42 | Commission at least 3 working days prior to the effective date |
43 | of such allocation. |
44 | Section 6. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law. |
