14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
15         On page 22, line 24, through page 23, line 17, delete
16  those lines

18  and insert:  
19         1002.65  Professional credentials of prekindergarten
20  instructors; schedule for enhancing
21  qualifications.--Notwithstanding ss. 1002.55(3)(c) and (3)(e)
22  and 1002.63(5) and (7), the minimum qualifications for
23  prekindergarten instructors of each private prekindergarten
24  provider or public school delivering a prekindergarten program
25  under this part, other than the summer prekindergarten program
26  under s. 1002.61, shall be enhanced in accordance with the
27  following schedule:
28         (1)  Effective at the beginning of the 2010-2011 school
29  year:
30         (a)  Each prekindergarten class must have at least one
31  prekindergarten instructor who holds an associate's or higher

 1  degree in the field of early childhood education or child
 2  development; and
 3         (b)  For each prekindergarten class composed of 11 or
 4  more students, in addition to a prekindergarten instructor who
 5  meets the requirements of paragraph (a), the class must have
 6  at least one prekindergarten instructor who meets the
 7  requirements of s. 1002.55(3)(c).
 8         (2)  Effective at the the beginning of the 2013-2014
 9  school year, each prekindergarten class must have at least one
10  prekindergarten instructor who holds a bachelor's or higher
11  degree in the field of early childhood education or child
12  development.
