| 2 | An act relating to coastal and waterfront preservation; |
| 3 | providing the right to access, through public lands, |
| 4 | certain coastal and waterfront areas during and |
| 5 | immediately following a declared state of emergency; |
| 6 | providing an effective date. |

| 8 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 9 |

| 10 | Section 1. Section 252.63, Florida Statutes, is created to |
| 11 | read: |
| 12 | 252.63 Coastal and waterfront preservation.--In order to |
| 13 | meet the special needs of coastal and waterfront areas during |
| 14 | and immediately following the time a state of emergency is |
| 15 | declared by executive order or proclamation of the Governor |
| 16 | under this chapter, access, through public lands, to any coastal |
| 17 | or waterfront area in need of restoration, nourishment, or |
| 18 | coastal construction shall be granted to all persons seeking to |
| 19 | preserve or repair the coastal or waterfront area, as well as |
| 20 | their vehicles and equipment, for 120 days immediately following |
| 21 | the declaration of a state of emergency or for another limited |
| 22 | time specified by the Governor. |
| 23 | Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law. |
