11  The Committee on Community Affairs (Clary) recommended the
12  following amendment:
13  
14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
15         On page 8, lines 8-26, delete those lines
16  
17  and insert:  
18         (7)  A unit of local government certified as owning an
19  eligible convention center may use proceeds provided pursuant
20  to s. 212.20(6)(d)7.e. solely to encourage and provide
21  economic development for the attraction, recruitment, and
22  retention of corporate headquarters and of high-technology,
23  manufacturing, research and development, entertainment, and
24  tourism industries as designated by the unit of local
25  government by resolution of its governing body, and to assist
26  the eligible convention centers to attract more business and
27  expand their offerings, including developing their own events
28  and shows.
29         (8)  The Auditor General may conduct an audit, as
30  provided in s. 11.45, to verify that the distributions under
31  this section have been expended as required by this section.
