11  The Committee on Judiciary (Webster) recommended the following
12  amendment:

14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
15         On page 2, line 14, through page 3, line 7, delete
16  those lines
17  
18  and insert:  pari-mutuel permitholder was authorized to
19  conduct pari-mutuel wagering activities pursuant to such
20  permitholder's valid pari-mutuel permit or as otherwise
21  authorized by law provided a majority of voters in a
22  countywide referendum have approved the possession of slot
23  machines at such facility in the respective county.
24  Notwithstanding any other provision of law, it is not a crime
25  for a person to participate in slot machine gaming at a
26  facility licensed to possess and conduct slot machine gaming
27  or to participate in slot machine gaming described in this
28  chapter.
29         551.102 Definitions.--As used in this chapter, the
30  term:
31         (1)  "Central control computer" means a central site

 1  computer controlled and accessible by the division to which
 2  all slot machines at a facility communicate for the purposes
 3  of auditing capacity; real-time information retrieval of the
 4  details of any financial event that occurs in the operation of
 5  a slot machine, including, but not limited to, coin in, coin
 6  out, ticket in, ticket out, jackpots, machine door openings
 7  and power failure; and remote machine activation and disabling
 8  of slot machines.
 9         (2)  "Designated slot machine gaming area" means the
10  area of an eligible facility, which may include any addition,
11  alteration, or new structure located on the premises described
12  in the former pari-mutuel permit issued by the division for
