14 On page 1, line 19, through
15 page 2, line 20, delete those lines

17 and insert:
18 Section 1. Notwithstanding subsection (3) of section
19 109 of chapter 2000-141, Laws of Florida, for areas of the
20 state which are not within the high-velocity hurricane zone,
21 the Florida Building Commission, upon updating the Florida
22 Building Code, shall adopt, pursuant to section 553.73,
23 Florida Statutes, the most current edition of the
24 wind-protection requirements of the American Society of Civil
25 Engineers, Standard 7, as implemented by the International
26 Building Code. This section is intended to explicitly
27 supersede only the first sentence of subsection (3) of section
28 109 of chapter 2000-141, Laws of Florida.
