  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the Florida Gulf Coast

  3         University; authorizing the university to

  4         establish a school of engineering; authorizing

  5         the university to grant bachelor's degrees in

  6         specified fields; providing an effective date.

  8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  9  

10         Section 1.  Florida Gulf Coast University School of

11  Engineering authorized; bachelor's degrees authorized.--

12         (1)  The Florida Gulf Coast University may establish a

13  School of Engineering.

14         (2)  The School of Engineering at the Florida Gulf

15  Coast University may award bachelor of science degrees in

16  bioengineering, environmental and civil engineering, and

17  engineering management.

18         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

19  law.

22                          SENATE SUMMARY

23    Authorizes the Florida Gulf Coast University to establish
      a School of Engineering. Authorizes the university to
