11  Senator Rich moved the following amendment:

13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
14         On page 3, lines 19 through 25, delete those lines
15  
16  and insert:  his or her 18th birthday. If a petition for
17  special immigrant juvenile status and an application for
18  adjustment of status have been filed on behalf of a foster
19  child and the petition and application have not been granted
20  by the time the child reaches 18 years of age, the court may
21  retain jurisdiction over the dependency case solely for the
22  purpose of allowing the continued consideration of the
23  petition and application by federal authorities. Review
24  hearings for the child shall be set solely for the purpose of
25  determining the status of the petition and application. The
26  court's jurisdiction terminates upon the final decision of the
27  federal authorities. Retention of jurisdiction in this
28  instance does not affect the services available to a young
29  adult under s. 409.1451. The court may not retain jurisdiction
30  of the case after the immigrant child's 22nd birthday.
