11 Senator Sebesta moved the following amendment:

13 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
14 On page 59, lines 10-13, delete those lines
15
16 and insert:
17 Section 50. Subsections (1) and (4) of section
18 322.135, Florida Statutes, are amended, and subsection (9) is
19 added to that section, to read:
20 322.135 Driver's license agents.--
21 (1) The department may, upon application, authorize
22 any or all of the tax collectors in the several counties of
23 the state, subject to the requirements of law, in accordance
24 with rules of the department, to serve as its agent for the
25 provision of specified driver's license services.
26 (a) These services shall be limited to the issuance of
27 driver's licenses and identification cards as authorized by
28 this chapter.
29 (b) Each tax collector who is authorized by the
30 department to provide driver's license services shall bear all
31 costs associated with providing those services.

1 (c) A fee of $5.25 is to be charged, in addition to
2 the fees set forth in this chapter, for any driver's license
3 issued or renewed by a tax collector. One dollar of the $5.25
4 fee must be deposited into the Highway Safety Operating Trust
5 Fund.

10 On page 6, line 4, after the semicolon,

12 insert:
13 deleting a requirement that a portion of
14 certain fees collected by a tax collector be
15 deposited in the Highway Safety Operating Trust
