  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to retail leases; amending s.

  3         521.004, F.S.; requiring that a retail lessor

  4         provide the lessee with a copy of the lease

  5         agreement rather than the documents signed

  6         during the lease transaction; providing an

  7         effective date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

10  

11         Section 1.  Subsection (2) of section 521.004, Florida

12  Statutes, is amended to read:

13         521.004  Disclosures.--A retail lessor must:

14         (2)  Provide the retail lessee with a copy of the lease

15  agreement each document signed by the retail lessee during the

16  course of the lease transaction.

17         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2005.

20                          SENATE SUMMARY

21    Requires a retail lessor to give a retail lessee a copy
      of the lease agreement. Deletes a requirement that a
22    lessor provide the lessee with all documents signed
      during the lease transaction.
