6An act relating to nurse registries; amending s. 400.506,
7F.S.; requiring a nurse registry to provide information
8regarding additional visits by registered nurses and the
9cost thereof; providing an effective date.

11Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
12
13     Section 1.  Paragraph (c) of subsection (10) of section
14400.506, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
15     400.506  Licensure of nurse registries; requirements;
16penalties.--
17     (10)
18     (c)  When a certified nursing assistant or home health aide
19is referred to a patient's home by a nurse registry, the nurse
20registry shall advise the patient, the patient's family, or a
21person acting on behalf of the patient at the time of
22contracting for services through the nurse registry of the
23availability of registered nurses to visit the patient's home to
24assess the patient's condition at an additional cost. A
25registered nurse shall make monthly visits to the patient's home
26to assess the patient's condition and quality of care being
27provided by the certified nursing assistant or home health aide.
28Any condition which in the professional judgment of the nurse
29requires further medical attention shall be reported to the
30attending physician and the nurse registry. The assessment shall
31become a part of the patient's file with the nurse registry and
32may be reviewed by the agency during their survey procedure.
33     Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2005.
