11 The Committee on Community Affairs (Geller) recommended the
12 following amendment:

14 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
15 On page 2, lines 5-8, delete those lines
16
17 and insert:
18 (4) Each local and state law enforcement vehicle may
19 carry an automated external defibrillator.
20 Section 2. Paragraph (a) of subsection (5) of section
21 932.7055, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
22 932.7055 Disposition of liens and forfeited
23 property.--
24 (5)(a) If the seizing agency is a county or municipal
25 agency, the remaining proceeds shall be deposited in a special
26 law enforcement trust fund established by the board of county
27 commissioners or the governing body of the municipality. Such
28 proceeds and interest earned therefrom shall be used for
29 school resource officer, crime prevention, safe neighborhood,
30 and drug abuse education and prevention programs, or for other
31 law enforcement purposes, which include defraying the cost of

1 protracted or complex investigations, providing additional
2 equipment or expertise, purchasing automated external
3 defibrillators for use in law enforcement vehicles, and
4 providing matching funds to obtain federal grants. The
5 proceeds and interest may not be used to meet normal operating
6 expenses of the law enforcement agency.
