| 4 | Remove lines 92-101 and insert: |
| 5 | (4) A landlord who owns fewer than 10 dwelling units in |
| 6 | the state and who has suffered a financial loss for lost rents |
| 7 | as a result of this section shall be deemed a victim, as defined |
| 8 | in s. 960.03(13), who has suffered a property loss, as defined |
| 9 | in s. 960.03(11), and who is entitled to reimbursement from the |
| 10 | Crime Victims' Services Office under chapter 960. |
| 11 | (5) If the respondent or any other tenant who is a party |
| 12 | to the rental agreement fails to retake possession of the |
| 13 | dwelling unit within 15 days after the date the victim gave the |
| 14 | landlord as the date the victim would vacate the dwelling unit |
| 15 | and the rent is unpaid, the dwelling unit shall be considered |
| 16 | abandoned and the landlord may retake possession and dispose of |
| 17 | any abandoned property in any way the landlord sees fit. |
| 18 | (6) The provisions of this section may not be waived or |
| 19 | modified by agreement between the victim and the respondent. |
