4 | Remove line(s) 92-101 and insert: |
5 | (4) A cotenant, other than a cotenant who is a respondent, |
6 | who suffers a financial loss as a result of this section shall |
7 | be deemed a victim, as defined in s. 960.03(13), who has |
8 | suffered a property loss, as defined in s. 960.03(11), and who |
9 | is entitled to reimbursement from the Crime Victims' Services |
10 | Office under chapter 960. |
11 | (5) If the respondent or any other tenant who is a party |
12 | to the rental agreement fails to retake possession of the |
13 | dwelling unit within 15 days after the date the victim gave the |
14 | landlord as the date the victim would vacate the dwelling unit |
15 | and the rent is unpaid, the dwelling unit shall be considered |
16 | abandoned and the landlord may retake possession and dispose of |
17 | any abandoned property in any way the landlord sees fit. |
18 | (6) The provisions of this section may not be waived or |
19 | modified by agreement between the victim and the respondent. |
20 | (7) This section applies to all rental agreements subject |
