15         Delete everything after the enacting clause

17  and insert:  Paragraph (j) is added to subsection (4) of
18  section 372.57, Florida Statutes, to read:
19         372.57  Recreational licenses, permits, and
20  authorization numbers; fees established.--
21         (4)  RESIDENT HUNTING AND FISHING LICENSES.--The
22  licenses and fees for residents participating in hunting and
23  fishing activities in this state are as follows:
24         (j)  Annual military gold sportsman's license, $18.50.
25  The gold sportsman's license authorizes the person to whom it
26  is issued to take freshwater fish, saltwater fish, and game,
27  subject to the state and federal laws, rules, and regulations,
28  including rules of the commission, in effect at the time of
29  taking. Other authorized activities include activities
30  authorized by a management area permit, a muzzle-loading gun
31  permit, a turkey permit, a Florida waterfowl permit, an

Any 2 resident who is an active or retired member of the United 3 States Armed Forces, the United States Armed Forces Reserve, 4 the National Guard, the United States Coast Guard, or the 5 United States Coast Guard Reserve is eligible to purchase the 6 military gold sportsman's license upon submission of a current 7 military identification card. 8 Section 1. Section 372.5712, Florida Statutes, is 9 amended to read: 10 372.5712 Florida waterfowl permit revenues.-- 11 (1) The commission shall expend the revenues generated 12 from the sale of the Florida waterfowl permit as provided in 13 s. 372.57(8)(a) or that pro rata portion of any license that 14 includes waterfowl hunting privileges, as provided in s. 15 372.57(4)(h), and (i), and (j) and (9)(a)3. as follows: A 16 maximum of 5 percent of the gross revenues shall be expended 17 for administrative costs; a maximum of 25 percent of the gross 18 revenues shall be expended for waterfowl research approved by 19 the commission; and a maximum of 70 percent of the gross 20 revenues shall be expended for projects approved by the 21 commission, in consultation with the Waterfowl Advisory 22 Council, for the purpose of protecting and propagating 23 migratory waterfowl and for the development, restoration, 24 maintenance, and preservation of wetlands within the state. 25 (2) The intent of this section is to expand waterfowl 26 research and management and increase waterfowl populations in 27 the state without detracting from other programs. The 28 commission shall prepare an annual report documenting the use 29 of funds generated under the provisions of this section, to be 30 submitted to the Governor, the Speaker of the House of 31 Representatives, and the President of the Senate on or before 2 12:46 PM 04/15/05 s1610.ep03.001

Section 372.5715, Florida Statutes, is 3 amended to read: 4 372.5715 Florida wild turkey permit revenues.-- 5 (1) The commission shall expend the revenues generated 6 from the sale of the turkey permit as provided for in s. 7 372.57(8)(b) or that pro rata portion of any license that 8 includes turkey hunting privileges as provided for in s. 9 372.57(4)(h), and (i), and (j) for research and management of 10 wild turkeys. 11 (2) The intent of this section is to expand wild 12 turkey research and management and to increase wild turkey 13 populations in the state without detracting from other 14 programs. The commission shall prepare an annual report 15 documenting the use of funds generated under the provisions of 16 this section, to be submitted to the Governor, the Speaker of 17 the House of Representatives, and the President of the Senate 18 on or before September 1 of each year. 19 Section 3. Section 372.661, Florida Statutes, is 20 amended to read: 21 372.661 Private hunting preserve license fees; 22 exception.-- 23 (1) Any person who operates a private hunting preserve 24 commercially or otherwise shall be required to pay a license 25 fee of $70 for each such preserve; provided, however, that 26 during the open season established for wild game of any 27 species a private individual may take artificially propagated 28 game of such species up to the bag limit prescribed for the 29 particular species without being required to pay the license 30 fee required by this section; provided further that if any 31 such individual shall charge a fee for taking such game she or 3 12:46 PM 04/15/05 s1610.ep03.001
Florida Senate - 2005 COMMITTEE AMENDMENT Bill No. SB 1610 Barcode 660068 1 he shall be required to pay the license fee required by this 2 section and to comply with the rules of the commission 3 relative to the operation of private hunting preserves. 4 (2) A commercial hunting preserve license, which shall 5 exempt patrons of licensed preserves from the license and 6 permit requirements of s. 372.57(4)(c), (d), (f), (h), and 7 (i), and (j); (5)(f) and (g); (8)(a), (b), (e), and (f); 8 (9)(a)2.; (11); and (12) while hunting on the licensed 9 preserve property, shall be $500. Such commercial hunting 10 preserve license shall be available only to those private 11 hunting preserves licensed pursuant to this section which are 12 operated exclusively for commercial purposes, which are open 13 to the public, and for which a uniform fee is charged to 14 patrons for hunting privileges. 15 Section 4.
