  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to juvenile detention; amending

  3         s. 985.215, F.S.; requiring juveniles who are

  4         committed to a maximum-risk residential program

  5         to be held in secure detention care until

  6         placement or commitment is accomplished;

  7         providing an effective date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

10  

11         Section 1.  Paragraph (d) of subsection (10) of section

12  985.215, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:

13         985.215  Detention.--

14         (10)

15         (d)  If the child is committed to a maximum-risk

16  residential program, the child must be held in secure

17  detention care until placement or commitment is accomplished.

18         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2005.
